Bryony Mathew 

Neuroscience PhD, 2005 

Dr Bryony Mathew is a British diplomat and is currently serving as the first female British Ambassador to Iceland. She grew up in the Netherlands, speaks eight languages and has travelled all over the world. She studied Experimental Psychology at University College, Oxford, Biological Anthropology at Durham University and Neuroscience at the Institute of Child Health at UCL.  

Since joining Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service in 2005, Bryony has served in Bangalore, Beijing, London and Phnom Penh. She is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion and has written two books on those topics for young children.
